At Chandmana Erdene, we are committed to providing clear, quantifiable evidence of the positive change our work brings to local communities.
At Chandmana Erdene, we are committed to providing clear, quantifiable evidence of the positive change our work brings to local communities. Our approach aligns with our responsible tourism goals and is supported by a robust measurement framework.
This work is led in collaboration with Léa Jacquot-Benson, a sustainability consultant and responsible tourism specialist with an MSc in Responsible Tourism Management. Based in the UK, Léa first travelled with Eternal Landscapes as a guest before joining the team in 2023 to help shape our long-term vision and impact strategy. With experience spanning grassroots initiatives to large-scale tourism projects, she brings a strong focus on inclusive development, climate action, and ethical partnerships. For Chandmana Erdene, Léa is helping to build meaningful partnerships, secure the resources needed to bring the project to life, and record its impact while ensuring we remain true to our values.
As a Community Interest Company, we record all income transparently. In addition, we will formally measure our progress through a structured data collection framework, tracking the metrics outlined in our measurement spreadsheet (such as local engagement levels). This data will feed into an annual Impact Report combining key statistics with real-life case studies, and will be used to identify areas for improvement and guide the evolution of our practices.
Our measurement framework will include:
Data: Number of local people employed or contracted; annual increase in earnings for those involved.
Measurement: Track payments to local partners; conduct surveys to estimate financial benefits.
Data: Number of training sessions/workshops; participant numbers; qualitative feedback.
Measurement: Log events, attendees, and topics; collect feedback via surveys or interviews.
Data: Number of people hosted (linked to water usage); participation in sustainable practices.
Measurement: Record sustainable practice adoption; track financial or material contributions to environmental initiatives.
Data: Number of cultural experiences facilitated; income generated for cultural projects; community feedback.
Measurement: Document participation; survey locals on how tourism supports traditions and livelihoods.
Data: Percentage of clients rating local interaction as meaningful; local testimonials; repeat partnerships.
Measurement: Include impact-focused questions in feedback forms; interview long-term partners.
Data: Funds or resources invested in community initiatives; number of projects initiated or supported annually.
Measurement: Maintain contribution records; track project completion and beneficiaries.
By following this structured approach, we aim to demonstrate—not just state—the value Chandmana Erdene brings to the communities we work alongside.
