Chandmana Erdene is our response to the need for inclusive training in Mongolia’s tourism sector—a dedicated centre offering a tourism training programme designed to empower women and make the industry more equitable for the long term.
Meet Tuya and Khaliunaa in our short film—two members of our female team at Eternal Landscapes.
Mongolia has a population of just 3.4 million and a small tourism workforce. While tourism has the potential to drive positive change, it’s not yet being fully used to create a more equitable society in Mongolia.
But tourism can be more than a job—it can be a pathway to confidence, opportunity, and long-term transformation. We’re working to expand access for women of all backgrounds in Mongolia, helping them use tourism as a stepping stone toward a stronger future—for themselves and their families.
The name Chandmana Erdene (Чандмань Эрдэнэ, meaning ‘Precious Jewel’) was chosen for its auspicious significance in Mongolian culture.
Deeply rooted in the country’s Buddhist heritage, it also reflects a meaningful connection to the local community of Bayan Chandmana where the centre will be based.
The three Buddhist jewels are surrounded by Mongolia’s traditional geometric stylised hammer pattern (Alkhan Khee) which represents unending strength, endless motion and eternal life. The colour blue represents the ‘Eternal Blue Sky’ of Mongolia.
Buddhism remains the predominant religion in modern Mongolia, woven into daily life as a living tradition. At the heart of its practice are the Three Jewels: the Buddha (the enlightened example), the Dharma (the teachings), and the Sangha (the community). We chose the Three Jewels as a central element of Chandmana Erdene’s logo—not only because they reflect the belief that our actions shape our future, but because they embody a deeper responsibility: to share, support, and uplift others along their path.

Chandmana Erdene builds on the foundation of Eternal Landscapes, our Mongolia-based travel company established in 2010.
Through Eternal Landscapes, we’ve nurtured a team of female Mongolian trip assistants—women from diverse backgrounds who are breaking barriers and redefining what it means to work in tourism.
Although Mongolia’s economy is growing, this progress has not translated into equal opportunities for women—particularly in rural areas. Chandmana Erdene was created to help bridge that gap. By choosing to travel with Eternal Landscapes or by directly supporting the centre, you contribute to expanding access to training, mentorship, and long-term employment for women across Mongolia. Together, we’re building confidence, skills, and leadership through meaningful, sustained engagement in the tourism sector.
